Sheila Carter is very much alive, just as The Bold and the Beautiful's Kimberlin Brown is ready to negotiate a new contract.

The Bold and the Beautiful fans could barely believe it when Steffy Forrester plunged a butcher knife into Sheila Carter's chest in February, leading the most famous villain in CBS soap history to be declared dead on Steffy's living room floor. Steffy claimed she was acting in self-defense and was exonerated. After all, she had reason to fear Sheila, since the crazy woman had shot her and left her for dead in an alley two years prior.

However, when it came time to cremate Sheila well over a month later (in real time, at least) Deacon discovered the woman Steffy had killed had all ten of her toes. The real Sheila only had nine toes, since she cut one off when she faked being mauled by a bear. Once Deacon and Finn learned Sheila had a doppelgänger named Sugar, they set out on a search through the streets of L.A.

On the Monday, April 29, episode, Deacon and Finn discovered Sheila unconscious in a warehouse -- with all nine of her toes. So, why did B&B resurrect a character who we thought was really, most sincerely dead, and was Kimberlin Brown surprised to hear she still had a job?

"I didn't see this coming, quite honestly," Brown told Deadline, explaining that Executive Producer and Head Writer Brad Bell called her with some news but wasn't very specific. "He was very vague. He was like, OK, I'm working on something. I don't know what it is.' And I said, OK. Talk about a roller coaster. The only thing I can think of is maybe it's because of my fans, maybe everyone who was commenting, who made everything go viral. Brad does listen. He does pay attention, and in my opinion, I truly believe that my following and my fans and the people who have loved to hate Sheila all these years are responsible for me coming back."

Of course, Brown does surmise that this could have been the plan all along, which some fans have suspected since the day Sheila was declared dead.

"Either [he thought he made a mistake] or he had this in mind all along and just didn't tell me about it!" she said. "But I can't see anybody doing anything that evil, however. That would be a Sheila moment."

So, will Sheila stick around for the long haul now? Brown certainly thinks so and said just as much.

"I am happy to say that I have been asked to negotiate another contract," the actress revealed.

Did you know Sheila was alive from the moment she was declared dead? Do you think this was a storyline change, or was having Sheila be alive the plan all along?
